A hole saw with tungsten carbide (TCT) teeth, designed for drilling 102 mm holes in wood, metal and mineral materials. A single-tool solution for installers working across different substrates.
TCT (Tungsten Carbide Tipped) technology means tungsten carbide teeth that stay sharp significantly longer than standard HSS teeth. This material makes it possible to drill hard mineral substrates and metals without the cutting edges losing their sharpness quickly.
The hole saw performs effectively in wood, wood-based materials, metals and mineral materials such as Porotherm, aerated concrete and sand-lime blocks. In some ceramic and aerated concrete materials it delivers faster drilling than diamond hole saws.
The 5/8" standard is one of the most popular shank sizes for professional hole saws. It fits most bench drills, pillar drills and powerful hand drills with a suitable chuck. Check compatibility with your tool before buying.
A size suited to 100 mm ventilation ducts, drainage pipes and larger electric cables. The hole saw cuts an opening with an internal diameter of 102 mm, providing installation clearance for standard components.

The hole saw requires a pilot drill, which centres the tool and prevents it slipping when you start drilling. YATO offers dedicated pilot drills compatible with model YT-43983:
A tungsten carbide tip designed for mineral materials and hard substrates. Recommended for work in aerated concrete, Porotherm and sand-lime blocks.
HSS high-speed steel works well in wood, wood-based materials and soft metals. Available in various lengths depending on the thickness of the material being worked.
Choosing the right pilot drill affects drilling precision and the service life of both components. Use the TCT version in mineral materials; in wood and metals the HSS version is sufficient.
Appropriate precautions must be taken when working with the 102 mm hole saw. The tool generates considerable reaction forces, particularly when it breaks through the material.
Personal protective equipment is mandatory: safety glasses, work gloves and hearing protection during prolonged work. Hold the drill firmly with both hands and be prepared for the moment of breakthrough. When drilling mineral materials, a lower rotational speed is recommended than in wood.
The hole saw should be tightened firmly in the drill chuck. Any play can cause runout, an imprecise hole and damage to the tool. Cleaning the hole saw of chips and dust after each use extends the life of the TCT teeth.
