Single-pole voltage tester for checking for the presence of AC voltage in electrical installations. A tool intended for basic verification measurements at mains voltage levels.
The tester detects AC voltage across a range that covers standard domestic installations (230V) as well as older installations (110V). An indicator lamp lights up when voltage is present, allowing the status of the circuit to be checked quickly.
The tester's length provides a suitable distance from live parts while remaining easy to handle. Its dimensions make it easy to carry in a work pocket or tool bag.
The body is made from insulating material, providing protection against electric shock. The transparent construction allows the internal components and the indicator bulb to be inspected visually.
Packaging designed for retail display. 24 units per outer carton, 360 units per pallet – useful information for bulk orders.

A single-pole voltage tester works on the principle of a small current flowing through the user's body to earth. When the probe tip is touched to a live conductor and the metal contact at the end of the handle is touched with a finger at the same time, the circuit is completed through the body's capacitance to earth. The resulting microcurrent (safe for humans) lights the indicator bulb. For this reason, the tester requires contact with the metal contact – without it, no measurement is possible.
Before testing, check that the tester is working on a circuit of known voltage. To test, touch the probe tip to the point being tested and place a finger on the metal contact at the end of the handle. Illumination of the lamp indicates the presence of voltage.
The tester does not show the voltage value – it is used solely to detect whether voltage is present. It is not suitable for precise measurements or for use with voltages below 100V or above 250V. It does not detect DC voltage. It is not a substitute for professional meters when diagnosing advanced faults.
Regularly check the condition of the probe tip – mechanical damage can affect measurement accuracy. Check the transparent handle for cracks. If there is no indication at a known voltage, replace the internal bulb. Store in a dry place, away from sources of moisture.
