An aluminium try square 700 mm long with a built-in spirit level for checking level and a stabilising stock. A tool designed for marking out and checking right angles in building, carpentry and assembly work.
A 40 mm wide, 1.0 mm thick aluminium profile construction provides rigidity while keeping the tool lightweight. Aluminium does not rust and is resistant to corrosion, which extends the service life of the square on site.
A spirit level set into the blade of the square allows right angles and level to be checked at the same time. This removes the need for additional tools when setting out plumb and level in a single measuring operation.
The 190 mm stock gives the square a stable bearing on the work surface. It allows perpendicular lines to be marked accurately without holding the tool in place, which improves both accuracy and convenience.
Permanent metric and imperial scales on both sides of the blade allow distances to be measured directly. This removes the need for a separate tape measure when measuring lengths of up to 700 mm in metric or imperial units.

Before starting work, check the accuracy of the right angle by placing the square against a known straight edge and then turning it through 180 degrees. If both lines coincide, the tool is accurate. To check the spirit level, turn the square through 180 degrees on a horizontal surface — the bubble should settle in the same position.
After finishing work, remove building debris from the surface of the square, especially mortar and plaster, which can damage the scale. Wipe the aluminium profile with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid knocking the working edges against hard surfaces, which can deform them and cause the tool to lose its measuring accuracy.
