A six-point socket with a 1/2 inch drive, designed for use with socket wrenches, ratchets and spinner handles. Made from carbon steel with a chrome-plated surface that protects against corrosion.
The 1/2" (12.7 mm) square drive is compatible with the majority of professional torque wrenches, ratchets and spinner handles used in mechanical and automotive workshops. This standard allows torque of 40 to 200 Nm to be transmitted.
The hexagonal internal profile increases the contact area with the nut or bolt, spreading the load across more points. This minimises the risk of rounding off the corners of fasteners, particularly when working with worn or corroded bolts.
CrV steel offers greater hardness and wear resistance than ordinary carbon steel. The addition of chromium and vanadium improves the mechanical properties of the tool, extending its service life under intensive use.
The chrome layer protects the steel against corrosion in damp workshop conditions. The smooth, chrome-plated surface makes it easy to clean oil, grease and dirt off the socket while keeping the size markings legible.

Before buying, make sure that your socket wrench or ratchet has a 1/2" drive. The 22 mm size refers to the across-flats dimension of the bolt or nut – measure the fastener with a vernier calliper or check the technical documentation for the equipment. For metric bolts, a 22 mm size usually corresponds to M14–M16 threads.
The 6-point socket needs regular maintenance to remain fully functional. After use, clean oil and dirt off the tool with a cloth or compressed air. Periodic lubrication of the square drive prevents wear to the ratchet mechanism.
Never exceed the maximum torque permitted for the socket size during use. Using extension bars or pipes to increase leverage can damage the internal profile or crack the socket walls. For seized fastenings, use penetrating fluid and increase the force gradually.
Storing sockets in organisers or tool cases protects them from mechanical damage and loss. The size marking should remain legible – if it wears off, it can be refreshed with an industrial marker or engraving pen.
