An auger bit for drilling 36 mm diameter holes in softwood and hardwood. A tool designed for carpentry, construction and installation work requiring precise through holes.
The 36 mm diameter allows holes to be drilled for electrical and plumbing installations, as well as for fitting wooden dowels and furniture screws. Typical applications include through holes in beams, posts and boards up to 50 mm thick.
The 240 mm overall length allows drilling into thicker structural components. The working spiral length is approximately 170-180 mm, which is sufficient to pass through standard beams and construction timber.
The hexagonal shank provides a secure fit in the drill chuck and prevents the bit from rotating during use. Compatible with hammer drills, standard drills and cordless drill drivers of suitable power.
The spiral flutes clear chips from the hole as you drill, which prevents the tool from jamming and overheating. The tool steel maintains sharp cutting edges when working in hardwood, plywood and chipboard.

For softwood (pine, spruce), the recommended speed is 800-1200 rpm. In hardwood (oak, beech), reduce the speed to 400-800 rpm to avoid overheating and scorching the wood. Drill with moderate pressure, allowing the bit to bite into the material on its own.
After use, remove chips from the spiral flutes with a brush or compressed air. The cutting edges can be sharpened with a triangular file, maintaining the sharpening angle. It is worth wiping the shank periodically with a cloth soaked in machine oil to prevent corrosion. Store in a dry place, protected from moisture.
When drilling, wear safety goggles to protect against flying splinters and chips. Work gloves and ear defenders are recommended for prolonged use. Do not drill into wood containing nails or screws – this may damage the bit and pose a risk to the operator.
