YATO L-600 Street Broom with Handle (YT-86853)
A street broom with a 600 mm working width, mixed PET/PVC bristles and a 1400 mm steel handle. Designed for cleaning large outdoor areas – sweeping leaves, sand, dust and fresh snow.
Features of the YATO YT-86853 street broom
600 mm working width
The 600 mm body width allows large areas to be swept in a shorter time. Ideal for pavements, driveways, car parks and squares ranging from a few dozen to a few hundred square metres. This width is a compromise between performance and manoeuvrability – the broom is wide enough to sweep efficiently, yet not so large that it makes work difficult in narrower spaces.
Mixed PET/PVC bristles, 0.9 mm thick
Bristles made from a blend of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) combine flexibility with abrasion resistance. The 0.9 mm fibre diameter provides enough stiffness to collect wet leaves and damp sand, while retaining the flexibility needed to work on uneven surfaces. A bristle length of 70 mm allows effective reach into cracks and uneven ground.
Plastic-coated steel handle
The handle is made from 0.34 mm thick steel sheet with a plastic coating, which provides mechanical strength while protecting against corrosion. Its 24.5 mm diameter and 1400 mm length allow users between 160 and 185 cm tall to work in an upright position. The plastic coating improves grip comfort and provides thermal insulation, which matters when working in low temperatures.
Head made from recycled PP regranulate
The broom head is made from recycled polypropylene (PP) regranulate and is resistant to impact and fluctuating temperatures (from -20°C to +60°C). The PP regranulate retains the mechanical properties of virgin material, ensuring the durability of the construction under repeated impacts against kerbs and other obstacles. A tapered 19-22 mm thread makes it compatible with most standard handles.

Use and maintenance
Assembly and checking the joint
Before first use, tighten the handle into the broom head by turning it clockwise until the tapered thread is fully seated. Check the joint every 2-3 weeks of intensive use, particularly when working on uneven surfaces.
Cleaning the bristles
After use, clean dirt from the bristles by beating them out or rinsing with a jet of water. Wet bristles should be dried in a hanging position or with the head facing upwards, which prevents permanent deformation of the fibres. Leaving the broom leaning against a wall with weight resting on the bristles is not recommended.
Storage
Store the broom in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources above 40°C. It is best to hang it by the handle grip or store it in a horizontal position. Prolonged storage at temperatures below -10°C may reduce the flexibility of the PVC bristles.
