Use and maintenance
Preparing the tube for expansion
Before expansion begins, cut the tube square to its axis with the cutter. Then remove burrs from both the inside and outside edge with the deburring tool. Check that the cut surface is smooth and free from deformation. The tube end should be clean and dry.
Expansion process
Insert the tube into the correct expander head to a depth that ensures correct expansion. Operate the hydraulic mechanism by pumping the lever. Expansion takes place gradually and evenly. Once full expansion is reached, release the pressure and remove the tube. Check the expansion dimensions before assembly.
Safety at work
Protective gloves must be worn when working with the hydraulic tube expander. Make sure the tool is in good technical condition and shows no hydraulic oil leaks.
