YATO YT-22380 Pipe Crimping Pliers
A hand tool designed for crimping and reducing the diameter of sheet metal pipes. The compound lever mechanism with five blades allows precise crimping of downpipes, ventilation ducts and stove pipes.
Technical features
Five crimping blades
The five-jaw design makes it possible to form several crimps at the same time around the circumference of the pipe. As a result, the crimping is even and the pipe joint is tight and mechanically stable.
Compound lever mechanism
The compound lever system increases the crimping force with minimal effort from the operator. The mechanism transfers the leverage to the jaws, making it possible to crimp thicker sheet metal without excessive strain on the hand.
260 mm working length
The dimensions of the tool provide adequate leverage and reach. A length of 260 mm is standard for crimping pliers and allows work on pipes with diameters from 60 to 150 mm, depending on the thickness of the sheet metal.
Tool steel
The material used ensures resistance to deformation during repeated use. Tool steel retains the blade geometry even during intensive work with galvanised and steel sheet.

Use and maintenance
How to use
Place the pipe between the jaws of the pliers, 20–30 mm from the edge. When the handles are closed, the blades press into the sheet metal, forming even crimps around the circumference. To obtain a full crimp, repeat the operation around the entire circumference of the pipe, rotating it by about 60–70 degrees after each squeeze.
Tool maintenance
After use, clean the pliers of metal swarf and dust. The compound lever mechanism requires periodic lubrication with machine oil. Before storing the tool for longer periods, protect the metal surfaces with a corrosion inhibitor, particularly if the tool has been used on wet galvanised sheet.
