A multi-purpose tool for stripping RG coaxial cables and UTP/STP network cables. It combines the functions of a stripper and cutters in a compact 125 mm design.
Moulded stripping slots matched to the standard diameters of RG59, RG6, RG7 and RG11 coaxial cables. They allow the outer insulation to be stripped precisely without damaging the screen or the dielectric. Each cable type has its own marked position, which eliminates the risk of error during use.
The adjustment mechanism lets you set the jaw width to suit category 5, 6 and 7 UTP and STP cables. Adjustment is essential because of the differences in outer diameter between cable types — from 5 mm for CAT5e to around 7.5 mm for CAT7. It allows the sheath to be stripped without disturbing the twisted pairs.
The cutting element is made from SK5 tool steel with a hardness of 58-60 HRC. This material is resistant to abrasion and holds its edge even under intensive use. The hardening ensures the blade lasts when cutting copper conductors of up to 2.5 mm².
The housing is made from impact- and scratch-resistant ABS thermoplastic polymer. This material retains its mechanical properties between -20°C and +80°C, which allows work in a range of conditions. The ergonomic shape provides a secure grip and reduces hand fatigue.

RG (Radio Guide) designations define coaxial cable standards. RG6 (75Ω impedance, 6.9 mm diameter) is used in satellite and cable television installations. RG59 (6.15 mm diameter) is used in CCTV and on shorter runs. RG11 (10.3 mm diameter) is intended for long runs thanks to its lower attenuation. RG7 is an intermediate variant between RG6 and RG11.
UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) is unshielded twisted-pair cable used in most office installations. STP (Shielded Twisted Pair) has screening that minimises electromagnetic interference. The categories define transmission parameters: CAT5e up to 1 Gb/s, CAT6 up to 10 Gb/s over a distance of 55 m, CAT7 up to 10 Gb/s over 100 m with full screening.
Before starting work, check the condition of the blade — that it is free from nicks and evenly sharpened. When stripping insulation, place the cable in the appropriate slot, press down and rotate the tool around the axis of the cable. The rotating motion produces an even cut in the sheath without damaging the inner layers.
Adjustment for UTP/STP cables is made using the adjustment dial. Set the jaw width so that the blade scores the sheath lightly without cutting into the insulation of the conductors. Check the correct setting on a test length — the insulation should come away with a single pull without leaving cuts on the wires.
The cutting function is used to shorten cables and remove damaged ends. The blade cuts through all the conductors of the cable at once, giving a square end that is essential when fitting connectors. The maximum cutting cross-section is around 2.5 mm² for copper.
Maintenance includes periodically cleaning insulation debris from the jaws and checking the sharpness of the blade. After working in damp conditions, dry the tool and protect the metal parts against corrosion. Storing it in a dry place extends the life of the adjustment mechanism and the cutting blade.
