Double-ended 420s/s stainless steel spatulas designed for sculpting, model-making and restoration work. The set contains two tools of different sizes with bent paddle-shaped and leaf-shaped blades.
The 420s/s designation refers to martensitic stainless steel with a chromium content of approximately 13%. It is characterised by corrosion resistance and hardness after hardening. In the case of these spatulas, it gives the blade flexibility as well as resistance to rusting during contact with water-based building materials.
The smaller spatula (8×192 mm) is used for work in narrow gaps and on details, while the larger one (26×254 mm) is for surfaces requiring a wider reach. Both have double-ended blades, which doubles the number of possible working edges in the set.
The paddle and leaf shapes with a bent profile allow access to corners, edges and places that are difficult to reach with straight spatulas. The bend allows work at an angle without the handle touching the surface being worked on.
The blade thickness of 0.6 to 1.45 mm is the result of precision grinding. The thinner edge (0.6 mm) provides accuracy when applying thin layers, while the thicker base (1.45 mm) gives structural rigidity that prevents the tool from bending.

Before first use, check the blades for any burrs created during transport. 420s/s stainless steel requires periodic cleaning of residues of building materials – filling compounds should be removed before they dry.
The smaller spatula (8 mm wide) is suitable for gaps, joints and details up to 10 cm. The larger one (26 mm) handles surfaces requiring a wider reach, such as plasterboard joints or longer cracks. The bent blade allows work in internal corners without the handle blocking the view.
Once work is finished, remove residues of material with a damp cloth. Despite the corrosion resistance of 420s/s steel, prolonged contact with aggressive compounds (e.g. those containing lime) can lead to discolouration. Storing the tools in a dry place extends their service life.
