A 75mm wood carving disc designed for shaping wood, aerated concrete and plasterboard. Made from carbon steel with a hardness of 40-50 HRC and a hardened, lacquered surface. Compatible with standard angle grinders with a 22.2mm bore.
A hardness of 40-50 HRC (Rockwell C) indicates a medium steel hardness that strikes a balance between wear resistance and flexibility. This material keeps its teeth sharp when working with softwood and building materials, while minimising the risk of cracking under overload.
Hardening increases the surface hardness of the disc, extending the tool's service life. The lacquer coating provides anti-corrosion protection that shields the carbon steel from moisture and oxidation during storage and when working on site.
The relatively large thickness of the disc in relation to its 75mm diameter gives the tool rigidity and stability during use. This reduces chatter and vibration, resulting in safer operation and more accurate cutting results.
The 2.4mm cutting segment thickness determines the width of the kerf left in the material. This value affects the amount of material removed in a single pass and the load on the grinder's motor. A thicker segment means faster material removal but requires more tool power.

The 22.2mm mounting bore is the standard size used on most angle grinders available on the European market. Before fitting, check that the grinder's maximum speed does not exceed 12,500 rpm and that the disc diameter is compatible with the tool's guard.
Personal protective equipment must be worn when working with a wood carving disc. Safety goggles protect the eyes from flying fragments and dust. Work gloves protect the hands from vibration and sharp edges. A dust mask or filtering half-mask is essential when working with materials that produce fine dust, especially plasterboard and aerated concrete.
Before starting work, inspect the disc for cracks, chipping or other mechanical damage. A damaged disc may disintegrate when run at high speed. Make sure the disc is correctly fitted and tightened with the grinder's locking nut.
The maximum rotational speed of 12,500 rpm must not be exceeded. Using the disc on a grinder with a higher speed may lead to overheating of the material, loss of mechanical properties or destruction of the tool.
