Yato YT-73973 Safety Helmet – Construction Helmet with Adjustment
Safety helmet made from ABS, designed to identify visitors, trainees and apprentices on construction sites. The model features a six-point textile harness, a quick headband adjustment system and ventilation openings that keep air circulating during use.
Features of the Yato YT-73973 safety helmet
ABS shell
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene is resistant to impact and abrasion. The material retains its protective properties at the working temperatures typically found on construction sites and in industrial facilities.
Ratchet adjustment system
The mechanism allows the headband to be set between 53 and 64 cm without tools. Adjustment is made by turning the dial at the rear of the harness, so the helmet can be re-fitted while it is being worn.
Six-point textile harness
The design spreads pressure over a larger area of the head, reducing pressure points. The textile webbing with a foam layer and a brow pad adds comfort when the helmet is worn for long shifts.
Ventilation openings in the shell
Air channels in the upper part of the helmet let heat and moisture escape. This prevents excessive sweating during work in enclosed spaces or in the summer months.
29 mm accessory slots
The side slots allow standard 29 mm ear defenders to be fitted. The helmet can be upgraded with hearing protection without the need for separate banded ear defenders.
Adjustable chin strap
The elastic strap attached to the harness stops the helmet slipping when the user bends over or works in a forced posture. The set includes a second, four-point chin strap that can be fitted by the user as preferred.

Using and maintaining the helmet
How to fit the helmet
Adjust the headband by turning the ratchet dial at the rear of the harness. The helmet should sit firmly on the head without excessive pressure. The gap between the inside of the shell and the wearer's head should be around 2-3 cm, which provides a cushioning space in the event of an impact.
Adjust the chin strap so that it sits comfortably under the chin but prevents the helmet from slipping. When correctly fastened, the strap should allow two fingers to be slipped between the strap and the chin.
Checking the helmet's condition
Before each use, check the shell for cracks, scratches and deformation. Mechanical damage reduces the helmet's resistance to impact. Inspect the harness for worn webbing, correct operation of the adjustment mechanism and the condition of the fixings.
The helmet must be replaced after an impact, even if there is no visible external damage, as the structure of the plastic may have been weakened. Manufacturers recommend replacing plastic helmets every 3-5 years from the date of manufacture because the material ages.
Cleaning and storage
Clean the helmet with lukewarm water and a mild detergent. Do not use organic solvents, acetone or strong chemicals, as they can weaken the ABS structure. After washing, dry the helmet at room temperature, away from heat sources.
Store the helmet in a dry room at 5-35°C, away from direct sunlight. UV radiation accelerates the degradation of plastic.
