Steel earth auger for petrol augers, designed for drilling 150 mm diameter holes in the ground. A tool intended for groundwork in gardening, construction and outdoor installations.
A 150 mm hole allows fence posts to be set, garden lights to be installed, and shrubs and trees with a medium-sized root system to be planted. A standard size for typical domestic gardening applications.
The length of the auger determines the maximum drilling depth. At 785 mm, it allows holes of up to around 700 mm to be drilled, which is enough to set posts securely below the frost line in most regions of Poland.
Structural steel provides the mechanical strength needed for drilling in compact, clayey ground containing stones. The material resists deformation during use and surface corrosion on contact with damp soil.
This auger is designed for use with the YATO YT-84660 petrol earth auger. Its coupling is matched to the output shaft of the auger, ensuring correct torque and stability during drilling with no risk of the connection working loose.

Before buying an auger, check the type of coupling on your auger. The YT-84671 has a coupling designed specifically for YATO augers in the YT-84660 series. With other auger models, an adapter may be needed, or you may need to choose an auger with a different mounting standard.
Before you start drilling, check the area for buried services – electrical cables, water pipes and gas pipes. Drill with even downward pressure, avoiding sudden sideways movements, which can deform the auger.
After use, clean the auger of soil residue with a wire brush or a jet of water under pressure. Steel parts benefit from a thin coat of machine oil, which prevents corrosion during storage. Storing the tool in a dry place extends its service life.
Check the condition of the cutting blade and the flighting regularly. Mechanical damage, especially after contact with stones, can reduce drilling efficiency. If the blade is significantly blunt, professional sharpening or replacing the auger is recommended.
