The YATO chainsaw guide bar is made from 65Mn manganese steel and features an automatic chain lubrication system. Length 8 inches (200 mm), pitch 3/8", gauge 0.05" (1.3 mm), 33 drive links.

65Mn Manganese Steel
The guide bar material offers increased hardness and wear resistance, ensuring stable operation even under intensive use. 65Mn steel maintains its mechanical properties across a wide temperature range.
Automatic Chain Lubrication
The built-in lubrication system reduces friction between the chain and the guide bar groove, lowers the operating temperature and extends the service life of the entire cutting system. It requires regular refilling of the oil in the chainsaw's tank.
Nose Sprocket with Roller Bearing
The bearing fitted in the guide bar's nose sprocket reduces resistance as the chain runs, prevents overheating of the tip and distributes mechanical loads evenly during cutting.
Type M Mount
The mount type determines how the guide bar attaches to the chainsaw body. Type M is compatible with the YATO YT-82836 and YT-82837 chainsaws and other models using this mounting standard.

Choosing the Right Chainsaw Guide Bar
Before buying a guide bar, check three key compatibility parameters against your chainsaw and chain:
Chain Pitch
A pitch of 3/8" (9.52 mm) is the distance between three consecutive chain rivets divided by two. The guide bar must have the same pitch as the chain. A 3/8" pitch is standard on chainsaws up to 2 kW.
Drive Link Gauge
A gauge of 0.05" (1.3 mm) defines the width of the groove in the guide bar in which the chain runs. A mismatch in this parameter makes it impossible to fit the chain or leaves it sitting loosely.
Number of Chain Links
An 8" guide bar requires a chain with 33 drive links. The number of links must match the guide bar length exactly – a chain that is too short will not close the loop, while one that is too long cannot be tensioned correctly.
Chainsaw Guide Bar Maintenance
Regular maintenance of the guide bar extends its service life and ensures safe operation of the chainsaw. After each use, clean sawdust and resin out of the guide bar groove. Check groove wear by measuring its depth – excessive wear causes unstable chain operation.
The nose sprocket with bearing requires periodic lubrication with a dedicated bearing grease. Rotating the guide bar every few hours of operation evens out wear on both edges of the groove. Check the condition of the bearing by turning the sprocket by hand – excessive resistance or play indicates that it needs replacing.
Safety
When working with a chainsaw, wear protective gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection and work clothing. Before fitting the guide bar, the chainsaw must be switched off and, on electric models, disconnected from the mains. Checking chain tension regularly prevents it from breaking during work.
