A 1" impact socket designed for heavy-duty work with pneumatic and electric impact wrenches. Made from chrome molybdenum steel (CrMo), it provides the strength required for the high torque loads encountered in industrial and workshop applications.
The 1" (25.4 mm) drive is the standard for industrial applications and heavy workshop work. It provides a secure connection with high-torque impact wrenches, minimising the risk of slipping when working at torque levels above 1000 Nm.
Chrome molybdenum alloy offers greater hardness and resistance to mechanical damage than standard tool steel. The chromium content provides corrosion resistance, while molybdenum increases tensile strength, which matters under repeated impact loads.
The 24 mm size matches the bolts and nuts typically used in steel structures, industrial machinery and HGVs. Before buying, check the fastener dimensions in the technical documentation or with vernier callipers to ensure a correct fit.
Impact sockets have reinforced walls and a modified internal structure that absorbs the vibration and shock generated by pneumatic wrenches. Standard chrome-plated sockets must not be used with impact wrenches, as they can crack or become deformed.
| Model | YT-1180 |
| Manufacturer | YATO |
| Drive size | 1" (25.4 mm) |
| Socket size (across flats) | 24 mm |
| Material | Chrome molybdenum steel (CrMo) |
| Socket type | Impact |
| Intended use | Pneumatic and electric impact wrenches |
The socket is compatible with pneumatic, electric and hydraulic impact wrenches fitted with a 1" square drive. Before use, check the maximum torque of the wrench and make sure the socket is properly seated on the drive to prevent it from coming loose during work.
Impact sockets require regular lubrication of the drive to prevent wear and corrosion. After finishing work, clean the socket of dirt and oil. Storing it in a dry place extends the life of the tool. Sockets with visible cracks or deformation must not be used, as they may fail under load.
When working with impact wrenches, personal protective equipment should be worn, including safety glasses and work gloves. The condition of the fasteners should also be checked before starting work to avoid damaging the thread or the socket.
