A spline socket with a 1/2" drive and an 18 mm size, designed for use with spline fasteners. Made from chrome vanadium (CrV) steel, it offers durability in workshop and industrial conditions.
The spline profile provides a larger contact area with the fastener than a standard hex profile. It distributes the force across more points, which minimises the risk of damaging the bolt or nut when working with worn or corroded fasteners.
The 1/2" drive is the standard used with medium-sized torque wrenches and ratchets. It transfers the torques typical of mechanical and automotive work while keeping the tool compact.
The chrome vanadium steel alloy is characterised by increased hardness and wear resistance. The addition of vanadium increases mechanical strength, while chromium improves corrosion resistance, which extends tool life in workshop conditions.
The 18 mm size corresponds to the diameter of the circle circumscribing the spline profile. It is used in brake systems, suspension and drivetrain components where a precise fit to specific bolts and nuts is required.

The socket is compatible with ratchets, torque wrenches, extension bars and universal joints with a 1/2" drive. Before purchase, check that the fasteners on the equipment you are working on have a spline profile rather than a standard hex.
When using the spline socket, make sure that the tool's profile is fully engaged with the profile of the fastener. Incomplete seating can damage both the socket and the bolt. Spline sockets should be used with the appropriate tightening torque in line with the equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
After use, clean the socket of dirt and protect it against corrosion, particularly in environments with high humidity. Regular maintenance includes checking the condition of the spline profile for signs of mechanical wear.
