An adjustable spanner 250 mm long, made from forged chrome vanadium steel and intended for workshop, fitting and plumbing work. This model, compliant with DIN 3117, provides precise adjustment of the jaw opening up to 30 mm.
The Cr-V material is characterised by increased hardness and resistance to abrasion. The forging process densifies the steel structure, which translates into higher mechanical strength compared with cast spanners. The addition of chromium increases corrosion resistance, while vanadium improves the elasticity of the material.
The adjustment range allows work with nuts and bolts measuring from approximately 8 mm to 30 mm. The worm screw mechanism enables smooth and precise adjustment of the jaw spacing. The 250 mm length provides adequate leverage when tightening medium-sized fasteners.
The rubber coating on the handle increases friction and prevents the hand from slipping during work. The grip material absorbs some of the vibration transmitted during use. The ergonomic shape of the handle reduces hand fatigue during longer tasks.
The DIN 3117 standard sets out the requirements for the dimensions, manufacturing tolerances and strength of adjustable spanners. Compliance with this standard confirms that the tool meets defined quality parameters relating to jaw geometry, the adjustment mechanism and working loads.

Before starting work, adjust the jaw opening to the size of the nut or bolt. The jaws should sit flush against all flat surfaces of the fastener. Do not use extension bars to increase leverage, as this can damage the adjustment mechanism or deform the jaws. Pull the spanner rather than push it so that you keep control of the tool.
After use, clean the spanner of dirt and dry it. The worm screw mechanism requires periodic lubrication with technical grease. Store the tool in a dry place. Regularly checking the condition of the jaws and the adjustment mechanism helps detect wear before the tool loses functionality.
When working with an adjustable spanner, protective gloves are recommended to prevent abrasions to the hands. For work on live components or in hard-to-reach places, additional personal protective equipment may be required in line with the occupational risk assessment.
