Aluminium construction

Knurled locking flange
The knurling on the flange surface prevents the rivet nut from rotating while the screw is tightened. It increases the contact area with the material, improving joint stability in low-strength materials.
Single-sided installation
Installation requires access from one side of the material only. It allows threaded fixing points to be created in box sections, tubes and areas with limited access. It requires the use of a rivet nut and a rivet nut setter, or a drill with a suitable attachment.

How to choose the right rivet nut size
The thread size (M3-M10) determines the diameter of the screw that can be fitted. The hole diameter in the material must be matched to the fitting requirements of the rivet nut. The thickness of the material being joined should match the length of the rivet nut body - material that is too thin will not provide a secure fixing, while material that is too thick will prevent the rivet nut from setting correctly.
Installation and use
Fitting rivet nuts requires a hole to be drilled with a diameter matching the rivet nut body. The insert is placed in from the flange side and the body is then expanded from the opposite side using a hand or pneumatic rivet nut setter. This process deforms the rivet nut material, creating a permanent mechanical joint.
Once fitted, the rivet nut provides a fully functional metric thread, allowing screws to be inserted and removed repeatedly. The knurled flange prevents the rivet nut from being pushed through the hole under load and stops it rotating during tightening.
Tools required for installation
Fitting rivet nuts requires a hand or pneumatic rivet nut setter with the correct rivet nut mandrels. Alternatively, a drill with an adaptor can be used. A drill bit is also needed to make the fixing holes, with a diameter suited to the size of the rivet nut.
