Aluminium Rivet Nuts M6 YATO YT-36454

Aluminium rivet nuts M6 are threaded fasteners designed for the permanent installation of threaded connections in thin materials that cannot be tapped with a conventional thread. The set contains 20 rivet nuts with a knurled cylindrical flange, which provide secure fixing in sheet metal, aluminium and plastics.

Features of M6 aluminium rivet nuts

M6 metric thread

The 6 mm thread diameter allows standard M6 screws to be used. The internal thread allows a screw to be inserted and removed repeatedly without damaging the joint, unlike solid rivets.

Knurled cylindrical flange

The knurling on the flange surface prevents the rivet nut from rotating in the material as the screw is tightened. The cylindrical flange increases the contact area with the material, distributing stress and minimising the risk of pull-out.

Aluminium construction

Aluminium keeps the weight low while maintaining sufficient mechanical strength. The material resists corrosion in chemically non-aggressive environments, which extends the service life of the joint.

Single-sided installation

Rivet nuts are installed with a rivet nut tool, requiring access to only one side of the material. This eliminates the need for access to the rear of the component, which is particularly useful when working with closed profiles and structures.

Applications of M6 aluminium rivet nuts

  • Fixing components in thin-walled steel and aluminium structures
  • Joining body panels on vehicle and trailer bodies
  • Installing fittings in closed profiles with no rear access
  • Securing components in electronic device enclosures
  • Sheet metal repairs in the automotive and machine-building industries
  • Exhibition and advertising structures made from aluminium profiles
  • Fixing components in glass-fibre-reinforced plastics
  • Ventilation and air-conditioning systems made from galvanised sheet

Installation and use

Required tool

Installing M6 rivet nuts requires a manual or pneumatic rivet nut tool with the correct mandrels. Before installation, drill a hole with a diameter matched to the body diameter of the rivet nut, in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.

Selecting material thickness

M6 aluminium rivet nuts are suitable for materials within a specific thickness range, typically 0.5 mm to 6 mm. Before use, check the body length of the rivet nut and match it to the thickness of the material being joined to ensure correct expansion and fixing.

Joint load capacity

The strength of the joint depends on the thickness and type of the base material and on correct installation. In thin aluminium and steel sheet, M6 rivet nuts withstand loads typical of structural applications that are not subject to dynamic loading.
