Use and maintenance
Connecting the welding cable
A 95 mm² welding cable should be inserted into the clamp opening and the clamping screw then tightened. A correct connection requires a tightening torque that ensures constant electrical contact without mechanical play. Before starting to weld, it is worth checking the temperature of the clamp after the first few weld beads.
Clamping to the workpiece
The crocodile clamp is attached by squeezing the handle and placing the jaws over the workpiece. The pressure spring holds the clamp in position. The contact surface should be cleaned of rust, paint and contaminants to ensure low contact resistance.
Clamp maintenance
After finishing work, clean the clamp jaws of welding spatter and contamination. Periodically check the condition of the pressure spring and the screw securing the cable. If the contact surfaces of the jaws are excessively worn, they can be sanded with fine abrasive paper.
