A complete cylinder and piston kit designed for rebuilding STIHL 018 and MS 180 petrol chainsaws. An aftermarket replacement for the original piston and cylinder assembly, with a chrome-plated 38 mm bore.
The chrome plating increases wear resistance and gives the piston rings better sliding properties. The chrome layer protects the cylinder from scoring and extends engine life.
Contains every component needed for replacement: cylinder, piston, two piston rings, gudgeon pin and circlip. No additional parts need to be purchased.
Matches the original specification of the STIHL 018 and MS 180 models. The cylinder bore determines engine displacement and chainsaw power – in this case approximately 31.8 cm³.
An aftermarket alternative to original STIHL parts. It retains the original dimensions and fitting parameters, so it can be fitted directly without modification.

The kit is designed for rebuilding the following STIHL chainsaw models:
Before purchase, verify the chainsaw model on the rating plate or in the instruction manual. Make sure the original cylinder bore is 38 mm. If in doubt, measure the diameter of the old piston or cylinder.
Replacing the piston and cylinder assembly requires basic mechanical tools and knowledge of how a two-stroke engine is put together. During fitting, the following steps should be observed:
After fitting a new piston and cylinder assembly, a running-in period is recommended – the first 3–5 hours of operation at reduced engine speed, avoiding full load. This allows the rings and the cylinder surface to bed in optimally.
