A deep-profile hex socket designed for use with 1/2-inch ratchets and impact wrenches. The extended design provides access to bolts and nuts seated deep inside mounting recesses or in hard-to-reach locations.
A 12.7 mm square drive is the standard fitment in professional tool kits. It is compatible with most ratchets, torque wrenches and impact wrenches available on the market. A drive of this size allows substantial torque to be transmitted.
The longer body allows work in deep mounting recesses, on through-bolts and in situations where a standard socket will not reach the fastener. Particularly useful for suspension, exhaust system and machinery work.
Internal hex profile matched to M12 nuts and bolt heads. The six contact surfaces distribute force evenly, minimising the risk of rounding off the fastener. Compatible with metric nuts in the 12 mm size.
Made from chrome vanadium steel, which resists deformation under impact loads. Heat treatment increases the hardness of the working surface, extending tool life in intensive use.

Before buying, make sure the bolts or nuts take a 12 mm spanner size. This can be verified with a vernier calliper or an open-ended spanner. A 1/2" drive is standard on most professional ratchets and torque wrenches with a torque range from 40 to 200 Nm.
Hex sockets require regular cleaning to remove contamination and lubrication of the drive. After working in contact with moisture, dry the tool to prevent corrosion. Do not exceed the maximum torque ratings specified by the manufacturer of the ratchet or wrench.
When working with impact wrenches, impact sockets with a reinforced construction are recommended. Standard sockets may be damaged by repeated impact loads.
The hex profile provides better guidance and a lower risk of slipping off the fastener than 12-point profiles, particularly on corroded or damaged nuts.
