Features of the 3/4" impact socket
3/4-inch drive
The 3/4" (19.05 mm) size is the standard for heavy-duty impact wrenches used in vehicle workshops and industry. It transmits high torque when loosening seized bolted joints in truck underbodies, construction machinery and brake systems.
Extended design
The deep version of the socket allows bolts set deep in mounting recesses or hidden behind structural components to be reached. A solution used when working on truck wheels, suspension components and industrial machinery.
Impact-rated construction
Alloy steel with increased impact resistance, hardened and tempered in a controlled process. The material structure absorbs the impact energy from a pneumatic wrench without cracking, unlike standard sockets that are not intended for impact work.
36 mm size

Checking compatibility
Before buying, check the nut size with an open-ended spanner or gauge. A 36 mm socket fits nuts with a 36 mm spanner size. The 3/4" drive requires an impact wrench with a 3/4-inch square drive. A size mismatch damages the corners of the nut and makes it impossible to undo.
Using the impact socket
Impact sockets are designed to work only with pneumatic or electric impact wrenches. Using impact sockets with hand tools such as ratchets is possible, but does not make use of their properties. Using standard sockets with impact wrenches causes the material to crack.
Before fitting the socket onto a nut, check the condition of the hex corners. Damaged corners mean the fastener needs replacing. The socket should be fitted over the full depth of the nut so that the forces are distributed evenly. Fitting it only part-way rounds off the corners.
After use, clean the socket of dirt and protect it against corrosion. Contact with water and road salt accelerates rusting, which makes it harder to seat the socket on the wrench drive.
