400 mm YATO YT-60271 Diamond Cutting Disc for Disc Cutters
Professional diamond cutting disc designed for cutting concrete, brick, granite and natural stone. The disc can be used for both dry and wet cutting in disc cutters with a 25.4 mm bore.
Technical characteristics
Speed and rotation parameters
A maximum peripheral speed of 80 m/s at up to 3,800 rpm ensures efficient cutting of building materials. These parameters define the safe operating range — exceeding the maximum speed may damage the disc or create a safety hazard.
Diamond segments
Cutting segments 12 mm high and 3.4 mm thick, made from 65Mn steel. A greater segment height means a longer disc service life — once the top layer of diamonds wears down, the layers beneath still retain their cutting ability.
Universal bore
A bore diameter of 25.4 mm (1 inch) is the standard for electric and petrol disc cutters. Before buying, check the spindle diameter of your cutter — it must match the disc bore.
Versatile use
Dry and wet cutting capability makes the tool more versatile. Wet cutting reduces dust and lowers the disc temperature, which extends its service life during intensive work on reinforced concrete and granite.

Compatibility with disc cutters
The disc is suitable for electric and petrol disc cutters fitted with a 25.4 mm spindle. Before fitting it, check the maximum speed of the machine — it must not exceed 3,800 rpm. This information can be found in the cutter's instruction manual or on its rating plate.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, run the disc at idle for 30-60 seconds to allow the segments to settle. When cutting dry, pause every 30-45 seconds to let the disc cool down — overheating shortens diamond life and can distort the body.
Wet cutting requires a constant supply of water to the cutting zone. The water cools the disc, binds the dust and helps clear material from the kerf. The water feed system should deliver a flow rate of at least 0.5 litres per minute.
After finishing work, clean any remaining material off the disc and check the condition of the segments. Even segment wear indicates correct operation. Uneven wear may point to spindle run-out or incorrect mounting of the disc.
Safety at work
When working with a diamond cutting disc, personal protective equipment is mandatory: safety glasses, ear defenders, work gloves and a dust mask (for dry cutting). The disc must be fitted in line with the direction of rotation marked by the arrow on the body. Using a damaged disc — with a cracked body or missing segments — is not permitted.
