An offset 30/50 mm cylinder with a knob on the inside, designed for mortice locks in internal and external doors. This solution allows the door to be opened from the inside without a key, while retaining standard key operation from the outside.
On the inside, the cylinder is fitted with a rotating knob that replaces the key. This allows the door to be locked or unlocked quickly without having to look for a key — a solution used on entrance doors to flats, offices and technical rooms.
Aluminium offers a low weight while maintaining adequate structural rigidity. The body does not corrode under standard conditions of indoor use, which contributes to the durability of the whole component.
Zinc-aluminium alloy (ZnAl) is a material commonly used in precision lock components. It ensures smooth operation of the barrel under repeated use and resistance to wear of the internal parts of the mechanism.
The brushed surface reduces the visibility of minor scratches caused by use. The nickel tone is colour-neutral and matches a wide range of door hardware — handles, backplates and hinges in a similar shade.

The cylinder size (30/50g) is the distance from the centre of the fixing screw to the outer face of the cylinder — 30 mm on the outside (key) and 50 mm on the inside (knob). Before buying, measure the thickness of the door leaf together with the hardware and compare it with the cylinder currently fitted, or check the dimensions in the lock documentation. The letter 'g' in the size designation indicates that the longer side ends in a knob.
The cylinder is secured with a fixing screw inserted from the face of the lock — the screw is supplied. Before fitting, make sure that the hole spacing in the lock matches the standard for lock cylinders (72 mm centres is the most common, but it is worth verifying this in the lock documentation). Replacing a cylinder does not require the whole lock to be removed — simply take out the old fixing screw, pull out the cylinder and slide the new one into the same position.
The mechanism does not require regular lubrication under standard conditions of use. If the barrel becomes difficult to turn, a graphite- or PTFE-based lock lubricant can be used — mineral oils and WD-40 should not be used, as they can attract dirt and cause the mechanism to seize.
