Mechanical drain cleaning brush with a three-row polypropylene bristle arrangement, designed for cleaning pipes of a diameter matching its 10 cm working diameter. The tool is used for removing organic blockages, grease deposits and accumulated fibres from waste pipe systems.
Technical features of the drain cleaning brush
Three-row bristle arrangement
The three-row bristle design provides a larger working surface. This allows the pipe walls to be cleaned from several angles at once, which increases the effectiveness of deposit removal in a single pass of the tool through the blockage.
Polypropylene bristles
Polypropylene is chemically resistant to detergents and the organic substances found in drains. The fibres retain their resilience on contact with water, do not absorb moisture and do not degrade in alkaline or acidic conditions.
Nylon brush body
The nylon body provides mechanical strength while retaining the flexibility needed to negotiate bends and elbows in the pipework. The material does not react with chemical cleaning agents and withstands repeated loads during use.
Compatibility with YT-24980 drain rods
The brush has a threaded or push-fit attachment system that allows it to be connected to YT-24980 drain rods. This makes it possible to reach blockages located several metres from the access point.

Use and maintenance
Matching the brush diameter to the pipework
The 10 cm working diameter corresponds to standard DN80–DN100 drainage pipes. Check the internal diameter of the pipe before use – the brush should be slightly larger than the pipe diameter so that the bristles make contact with the walls during use. For smaller or larger pipes, select a tool of the appropriate diameter.
The brush must be connected to a set of rigid or flexible drain rods that allow the tool to be moved further into the pipework. YT-24980 rods screw or clip together to form a rigid or semi-rigid rod string. The length of the rod set should be matched to the distance between the blockage and the access point.
When using the brush, work it with a push-pull motion while rotating the rod about its axis. This action allows the bristles to loosen and collect debris mechanically. After use, rinse the brush with clean water and dry it to prevent bacteria from developing on the bristles.
Personal protective equipment
Protective gloves, safety glasses and work clothing must be worn when clearing drainage. Contact with the contents of drainage pipes carries a biological risk from bacteria and chemical substances. After finishing work, wash your hands thoroughly and disinfect the tools used.
