An F-clamp with a 200 mm opening and 80 mm throat depth, designed for holding and joining components during woodworking, assembly and gluing. Fitted with a reinforced, ribbed bar and a screw mechanism with a ball-joint pressure pad.
F-clamp construction features
Reinforced, ribbed bar
The clamp bar has additional pressed ribs that increase its torsional rigidity. This prevents distortion when clamping components under heavy load, which in turn distributes the clamping force evenly and allows precise positioning of the parts being joined.
Screw with a specially profiled thread
The clamping mechanism uses a screw with an optimised thread profile that provides smooth adjustment of the clamping force and minimises backlash. This allows the pressure to be set precisely to suit the sensitivity of the material and the required joining force.
Ball-joint pressure pad
The pressure pad is mounted on a ball joint and automatically adapts to the angle of the surface being clamped. This compensates for uneven and angled surfaces, ensuring full contact and eliminating point loads that could damage the material.
Plastic protective pads
The clamping faces are fitted with soft plastic pads that protect the workpiece from scratches, dents and distortion. The pads increase friction, which prevents the components from slipping while being clamped.

Use and maintenance
Selecting the clamping force
The clamping force should be matched to the type of material and adhesive. Excessive pressure can squeeze the glue out of the joint or distort the components. When working with softwood, additional packers should be used to spread the load.
Checking for squareness
Before fully tightening the clamp, check the angles of the components being joined with a try square or engineer's square. An F-clamp allows slight adjustment of position before final tightening.
Maintaining the mechanism
The thread of the clamping screw and the sliding bar need periodic cleaning to remove dust and glue residue. The mechanism should be lubricated with grease or machine oil every few months of use to keep adjustment smooth and prevent corrosion.
Safe working practice
Protective gloves should be worn when using the clamp. Do not exceed the maximum 200 mm opening or use handle extensions to increase the clamping force, as this can damage the mechanism or break the bar.
