M4 aluminium rivet nuts with a cylindrical body and flat head, designed to create permanent threaded joints in thin materials where there is no access to the reverse side. The 0.5–2.0 mm material thickness range makes them suitable for sheet metal, box sections and equipment enclosures.

Aluminium has a low weight and is naturally resistant to atmospheric corrosion. This makes these rivet nuts suitable for use in damp environments, with no risk of the installed insert rusting.
Knurled outer surface
The knurling on the rivet nut body increases friction between the insert and the edge of the hole in the material. This prevents the insert from turning while the bolt is being tightened, which matters particularly when components are assembled and disassembled repeatedly.
Flat head
The flat head spreads the clamping pressure evenly across the material surface during setting. It minimises the risk of deforming thin sheet metal around the hole and ensures the insert is seated squarely and securely.
0.5–2.0 mm thickness range
This parameter defines the materials in which the rivet nut will set correctly. Materials thinner than 0.5 mm or thicker than 2.0 mm will not provide a proper grip — measure the wall thickness at the fixing point before installation.

Applications

Installation and use
Tool required
Setting M4 rivet nuts requires a hand or pneumatic rivet nut tool (a nut riveter). Standard blind rivet tools are not compatible with this type of fastener.
Before installation, drill a hole of the correct diameter for the M4 rivet nut (typically 5.0–5.1 mm — verify this in the documentation for the setting tool). The wall thickness at the drilling point should be within the 0.5–2.0 mm range. The rivet nut is inserted into the hole and then compressed with the rivet nut tool, forming a load-bearing collar on the reverse side of the material. Once set, the insert provides a permanent M4 threaded fixing point ready to accept a bolt or screw.
