RIBE M6 profile
The RIBE (Resistorx) tip is a specialist multi-lobe profile used mainly in the automotive industry. The M6 size refers to the diameter of the screw head the socket is designed to fit. The profile provides a larger contact area than a standard hex, which reduces the risk of damaging the screw head at high torque values.
1/2" drive

How to check compatibility
Before purchase, make sure the screws in the equipment you are servicing have a RIBE M6 profile. The RIBE profile can be recognised by its star-shaped recess with rounded teeth. It should not be confused with Torx (a six-point star with sharp corners) or XZN (a twelve-point profile). The M6 size indicates an outer screw head diameter of approximately 6 mm.
Use and maintenance
Impact sockets require periodic inspection of their technical condition. Before use, check that the internal profile shows no signs of wear that could cause it to slip off the screw head. After each use, clean the socket of any contamination and apply a thin layer of protective oil, especially when working in a damp environment.
