Professional impact socket with a RIBE M6 tip, made from chrome molybdenum steel. Designed for use with air and electric impact wrenches in applications demanding high resistance to impact loads.
The RIBE (Resistorx) tip is a specialist multi-lobe profile used mainly in the automotive industry. The M6 size refers to the diameter of the screw head the socket is designed to fit. The profile provides a larger contact area than a standard hex, which reduces the risk of damaging the screw head at high torque values.
The 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) drive is the standard for professional air and electric tools. This drive size handles the high torque values required in vehicle workshops and industrial settings. The socket has a pin hole for a retaining pin that stops it falling off the wrench.
CR-MO is a steel alloy with added chromium and molybdenum, offering greater flexibility and resistance to dynamic loads than standard CR-V steel. As a result, the socket absorbs vibration and withstands repeated impacts without cracking or permanent deformation. It is an essential material for impact tools.
The socket surface is coated with a protective layer that guards against corrosion. This extends tool life in high-humidity environments and where the socket comes into contact with the oils and operating fluids typical of vehicle workshops.

Before purchase, make sure the screws in the equipment you are servicing have a RIBE M6 profile. The RIBE profile can be recognised by its star-shaped recess with rounded teeth. It should not be confused with Torx (a six-point star with sharp corners) or XZN (a twelve-point profile). The M6 size indicates an outer screw head diameter of approximately 6 mm.
Impact sockets require periodic inspection of their technical condition. Before use, check that the internal profile shows no signs of wear that could cause it to slip off the screw head. After each use, clean the socket of any contamination and apply a thin layer of protective oil, especially when working in a damp environment.
When working with an impact wrench, make sure the socket is fully seated on the screw head. Incomplete seating can damage both the socket and the fastener. Impact sockets should be used only with impact tools – using them with manual wrenches will not make the most of their potential, while using standard sockets in an impact wrench risks damaging them.
