A professional impact socket for heavy-duty work with pneumatic and electric impact wrenches. Made from chrome-molybdenum steel (CR-MO) and designed specifically for applications requiring resistance to extreme impact loads.
A premium-grade material with enhanced elasticity that absorbs vibration and shock without cracking. Unlike the CR-V steel used in hand sockets, CR-MO retains its molecular structure under impact loads, eliminating the risk of cracking when working with pneumatic wrenches.
The six-point star profile distributes force more evenly over a larger contact area with the bolt than conventional hex profiles. Size T70 corresponds to an inscribed diameter of approx. 15.7 mm and is used in structural joints and suspension components on heavy goods vehicles.
A 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) square drive compatible with medium-torque impact wrenches (typically 300–1200 Nm). Fitted with a retaining pin hole and a retaining ring that holds the socket on the anvil.
Reinforced walls of greater thickness and a special heat treatment (hardening and tempering) give the socket resistance to cyclic impact loads. A black oxide coating protects against corrosion in the workshop environment.

CR-V (chrome-vanadium) steel, used in hand sockets, has a higher surface hardness but lower elasticity. Under impact it can develop micro-cracks. CR-MO steel contains molybdenum, which increases the ductility of the material – allowing repeated elastic deformation without structural damage. CR-MO sockets are therefore an essential standard when working with impact tools.
Before use, check that the socket profile is free from dirt and corrosion – contamination can cause the socket to slip out of the fastener. After use, clean the socket with compressed air and apply a light coat of maintenance oil.
Impact sockets are not intended for use with hand lever wrenches – these generate too little force to make use of the tool's potential. Standard (CR-V) sockets should be used for manual work.
Storing in a dry place, on socket organisers or in tool cases, prevents corrosion and provides quick access to the right size.
