Power unit for the Kraft&Dele KD174 petrol earth auger. A two-stroke petrol engine with a chrome-plated cylinder, air-cooled, designed for work on site where there is no access to mains power. This listing covers the engine only — auger bits and the complete kit are available in separate listings.
Engine features
Chrome-plated cylinder
Chrome plating of the cylinder bore increases its resistance to wear and corrosion. This gives the power unit a longer service life and keeps its operating parameters stable over a longer period of use.
Air cooling
The engine does not need a liquid cooling system — the absence of extra components means a simpler design and a lower risk of failure. This is a proven solution in portable petrol-powered equipment used in varying site conditions.
Safety cut-off switch

Fuel and operation
A two-stroke engine requires a fuel-oil mixture at a ratio of 25:1 (25 parts petrol to 1 part two-stroke oil). Using the correct mixture has a direct effect on engine durability — too little oil leads to accelerated wear of the cylinder and piston. A mixing bottle is included to make it easier to prepare the mixture in the correct proportions.
Air cooling requires an unrestricted flow of air around the engine during operation. Do not run the machine in enclosed, poorly ventilated spaces because of exhaust emissions.
