The KD680 is a portable petrol-powered inverter generator producing a pure sine wave output at 230 V / 50 Hz. Inverter technology sets it apart from conventional generators — the output voltage is electronically stabilised, which allows sensitive electronic equipment to be powered safely. A weight of 13.5 kg and a 3 L fuel tank allow it to run for 4.4 hours without refuelling.
An inverter generator converts AC to DC and then back to AC with stable parameters. The result is a sine wave free from harmonic distortion — essential for powering laptops, televisions, audio-visual equipment, electronically controlled pumps and medical devices. A conventional generator without an inverter can damage equipment of this kind.
A microprocessor controlling the throttle continuously analyses current draw and adjusts engine speed to the load at that moment. When power demand is low, the engine runs more slowly — using less fuel and producing less noise. As the load increases, engine speed rises automatically. ECO mode can be activated manually with a switch.
S1 mode means continuous operation at the rated power of 1.5 kW — intended for sustained power supply. S2 mode permits short-term overload up to 1.8 kW, for example when starting electric motors, which require a higher starting current than their running current. Understanding the difference between these two modes prevents permanent overloading of the generator.
A single-cylinder four-stroke engine with overhead valves (OHV) offers better cylinder filling and higher thermal efficiency than engines with side valves. The generator is fitted with indicators for output voltage, overload and oil level — a low oil level triggers automatic engine shutdown, protecting it from damage caused by running dry.

The declared noise level of 93 dB is measured under full load. With ECO mode active and a light load, this figure is lower. For comparison, conventional generators without an inverter typically run at 95–105 dB. Even so, the generator is not suitable for use in enclosed spaces — a combustion engine requires unrestricted exhaust discharge.
Add up the power drawn by all the devices that are to be powered at the same time. The total should not exceed the rated power of 1.5 kW (S1 mode). If any of the devices are electric motors (pumps, compressors), their starting current may be 3–5 times higher than their running current — in that case this figure must be taken into account when choosing a generator.
