A specialist socket set designed for removing and refitting lambda sensors in cars and vans. The set contains 3 sockets of 22 mm, suited to standard lambda sensors used in most exhaust systems.
The 22 mm sockets fit most lambda sensors used in vehicles with petrol and diesel engines. This size is an industry standard, which ensures broad compatibility with different vehicle makes.
The socket design includes a side slot that allows the lambda sensor lead to pass through the socket during fitting and removal. This removes the need to disconnect the electrical connector before unscrewing the sensor, which speeds up the job and reduces the risk of damaging the plug.
The set contains three sockets, which may differ in depth or slot shape, allowing you to work with lambda sensors fitted in different configurations. Some sensors require a deeper socket because of their position in the exhaust manifold or the catalytic converter pipe.

Before removing a lambda sensor, run the engine for a few minutes to warm up the exhaust system. A warm thread is easier to undo. Once the engine has been switched off and a moment has been allowed for it to cool, you can begin work. The lambda sensor should be unscrewed slowly, avoiding sudden movements that could damage the thread in the manifold.
