A workshop tool designed for the precise crimping of metal clamps onto driveshaft joint boots and other components requiring a permanent connection. Fitted with a 3/8" ratchet drive that allows work in confined spaces.
Technical features of the boot clamp tool
3/8" ratchet drive
The standard drive size allows sockets and accessories from tool kits to be used. The ratchet mechanism allows clamping without removing the tool after each turn, which speeds up work in the confined space under the bonnet.
Clamping range 0–40 mm
This figure specifies the diameter of the clamps the tool works with. A range of up to 40 mm covers most standard clamps used on constant velocity (CV) joint boots in cars and vans. Before purchase, check the clamp diameter for the specific vehicle model.
Chrome-molybdenum steel

Clamp compatibility
Before use, check the type of clamp fitted at the factory. The tool works with metal clamps that are crimped mechanically. It is not suitable for bolt-type clamps, worm-drive clamps or one-piece clamps with a plastic fastener. The vehicle's technical documentation or parts catalogues will tell you which type of clamp is used.
Using and maintaining the tool
After each use, clean dirt and grease residue off the tool. The ratchet mechanism requires periodic lubrication with tool oil, particularly under intensive use. Storing the tool in a dry place prevents corrosion of the working surfaces.
When clamping, make sure the tool is correctly seated on the clamp to avoid slipping and damaging the rubber boot. The clamping force should be matched to the boot material – over-tightening can cause it to split.
