Mounted flap wheel for working metal, wood and plastics. The tool fits a 6 mm shank and is designed for use with drills and die grinders.
Features of the mounted flap wheel
Flap construction in abrasive cloth
Abrasive cloth flaps arranged around the core provide flexible contact with the workpiece surface. This construction allows the wheel to follow the shape of the workpiece and makes it possible to grind in hard-to-reach places and on irregular surfaces.
P60 grit for initial stock removal
The P60 grit (grain diameter approximately 269 µm) is intended for coarse grinding and removing larger imperfections. It is used to remove rust, paint and burrs, and to smooth welds before finishing work.
6 mm shank for drills
The standard 6 mm shank fits the chucks of drills, cordless drill/drivers and die grinders. Fitting simply means clamping the shank in the drill chuck – no additional adapters are required.
40x20 mm working dimensions
The 40 mm diameter and 20 mm height are a compromise between working area and the ability to work in confined spaces. This size performs well on medium-sized parts and in areas with limited access.

Compatibility and fitting
Required tools
The wheel works with corded and cordless drills fitted with a drill chuck (usually keyless or keyed). It also fits die grinders with a 6 mm collet and flexible shaft grinders. Before fitting, check that the tool's chuck or collet accepts 6 mm shanks.
Operating parameters
The recommended speed for this type of wheel is 8,000–15,000 rpm, depending on the material being worked. Lower speeds are used for wood and plastics, higher speeds for metals. Too high a speed can overheat the material and wear the wheel more quickly.
Use and maintenance
Apply steady, moderate pressure when using the wheel – excessive pressure wears the flaps faster and can overheat the material. It is advisable to move the tool in a back-and-forth or circular motion, avoiding prolonged grinding in one spot.
The wheel wears gradually as the flaps abrade. Signs of wear include a reduced working diameter, loss of grit and reduced grinding performance. After use, remove dust from the shank and check the condition of the wheel – damaged or excessively worn flaps can cause vibration.
Grinding metal produces fine dust and sparks – safety goggles and a dust mask are essential. When working with wood, dust extraction or an extraction system is recommended, as wood dust is flammable and can be harmful to the respiratory system.
