A mounted flap wheel for drills and straight grinders, designed for grinding metal, wood and plastics. The abrasive cloth flaps mounted on a steel shank provide controlled material removal and access to hard-to-reach areas.
Abrasive cloth flaps arranged radially around the shank provide flexible contact with the workpiece surface. This construction allows both flat surfaces and edges to be ground, while reducing the risk of removing too much material in one place.
P120 grit corresponds to medium finishing. It is used to remove minor imperfections, prepare surfaces for painting or further processing, and smooth surfaces after earlier grinding with a coarser grit. It leaves a smooth surface, although marks from the process remain visible.
A 6 mm shank diameter is standard for drills and straight grinders with a collet chuck or drill chuck. Before purchase, check that your tool has a suitable chuck or adapter. The maximum rotational speed depends on the manufacturer's specification and the type of material being worked.
The 80 mm working diameter and 30 mm width determine the grinding area. The larger size allows larger surfaces to be worked efficiently, but requires a suitably powerful drive tool. This size works well in workshops, on renovation work and in production.

Before fitting the wheel, disconnect the tool from the power supply. Insert the shank into the chuck of the drill or grinder and tighten it in accordance with the tool's instructions. Maintain the correct angle and pressure during use – excessive pressure causes rapid flap wear and overheating of the material. Safety glasses and a dust mask are recommended.
The recommended rotational speed depends on the material being worked. For hard metals, lower speeds are used (around 3,000–5,000 rpm); for wood and plastics, the speed can be increased. Too high a speed burns the material and causes faster wheel wear. The maximum peripheral speed specified by the manufacturer must be observed.
A flap wheel wears gradually – the flaps become shorter and lose their abrasive ability. Replacement is necessary when grinding becomes ineffective or when the shank starts to come into contact with the workpiece surface. A worn wheel should not be used, as this may damage the material or the tool.
