Neodymium magnet in a nickel-plated steel housing with a removable eyelet and an M3 thread. Designed for holding and hanging items on metal surfaces and for underwater use, such as magnet fishing and recovering metal objects.
The nickel-plated steel housing concentrates and strengthens the magnetic field, directing it towards the working face. It also protects the neodymium core against mechanical damage and moisture, which is important in underwater applications.
The neodymium magnet is sealed inside the housing with epoxy adhesive. This prevents the core from working loose under vibration and stops water and contaminants from getting inside the assembly.
The steel eyelet is replaceable and screws onto an M3 thread. It allows a rope, carabiner or other fitting to be attached. The M3 thread is a widely available standard, which makes it easy to match accessories.
Neodymium magnets have a much higher magnetic energy density than ferrite magnets of the same size. As a result, a magnet with a diameter of 20 mm achieves a holding force of up to 4 kg despite its compact dimensions.

When the magnet is mounted perpendicular to the metal surface (for example, hanging freely from a rope fixed to the ceiling and touching the wall with its side), the actual holding force can be as much as four times lower than the maximum value. In this arrangement the magnetic field is not directed optimally towards the working face.
Placing the flat working face of the magnet directly against the metal surface provides the greatest holding force and stability. This is the recommended way to use the magnet. The thickness of the material the magnet attaches to also affects the pull force — thin sheet metal carries the magnetic flux less effectively than a thick steel component. A test under real conditions is recommended before the final application.
