Use and maintenance

Before you start cutting, make sure the pipe is clean and free from sand or other debris that could damage the blade. The pipe is placed perpendicular to the cutter jaws to obtain a clean, straight cut. With larger-diameter pipes, using the ratchet mechanism is recommended – squeezing the jaws several times cuts through the material gradually.

After use, clean any PVC residue from the blade. Regularly checking the sharpness of the cutting edge prevents the pipe from being crushed rather than cut. If necessary, the blade can be sharpened or replaced. The ratchet mechanism requires periodic lubrication to ensure smooth operation.
