The KRAFT&DELE automatic cable reel is designed for permanent installation in a workshop, garage or garden. It features an automatic rewind mechanism with a lock at the chosen length, thermal protection and a child-safe socket.
The cable pulls out smoothly to the required length, and the locking mechanism holds it in position. This removes the need to wind the cable in by hand once work is finished — a light tug is all it takes to set the automatic rewind going.
A built-in thermal cut-out protects the installation and any connected equipment from the effects of overheating. During intensive use, or when the cable is only partly unwound with a high-draw appliance connected, the cut-out isolates the power before any damage can occur.
The socket has mechanical shutters that block access to the contacts unless both openings are pressed at the same time. This matters in environments where children may be present — for example a domestic garage or home workshop.
The housing can be fixed to a wall, ceiling or pole. Permanent installation allows the supply cable to be routed permanently and removes the need to move the unit — the cable is always to hand in a set place.

A 3×1.5 mm² cross-section on a 16A socket means the cable should be fully unwound at full load. A partly coiled cable heats up more quickly under load — the built-in thermal cut-out responds to this, but for appliances rated above approx. 2000W the cable should be unwound to its full length.
