The KD3516 draw tape is a tool designed for pulling cables and wires through installation ducts, conduits and flexible conduit. The flexible spring steel tape, 15.3 m long, allows long cable runs to be handled, including runs with bends and kinks.

Spring steel combines flexibility with adequate longitudinal stiffness. The tape flexes at bends in the installation while transmitting the pushing force needed to cover a long cable run. The 3 × 1.5 mm cross-section provides a balanced ratio of flexibility to mechanical strength.

Use and maintenance
Before inserting the tape into a duct, make sure the route is clear and free from sharp edges that could damage the steel. The end of the tape can be attached to the cable bundle with insulating tape or a dedicated connector, and the tool then withdrawn, pulling the cables into place. Once the work is complete, the tape should be wound slowly back into the housing, using the brake to control the winding speed. The spring steel should be wiped periodically with a lightly oiled cloth, which prevents corrosion and makes it easier to slide the tape through ducts.
Installation compatibility
The KD3516 draw tape is designed for use in ducts and conduits with an internal cross-section that allows the 3 × 1.5 mm tape to run freely. Before use, check the minimum bend radius of the conduit — bends that are too tight may reduce the working reach of the tool or make it difficult to feed the tape out.
