The KD10199 is a set of four screw extractors with drill bits, designed for removing damaged, sheared or seized screws and studs. The tools are made from hardened steel and are designed for use with a drill driver, keeping intervention time to a minimum.
The set combines a drill bit for drilling out a sheared screw with a left-hand thread extractor. Once the pilot hole has been drilled, the extractor grips the screw material and draws it out as it turns anticlockwise — no additional tools are required.
The spiral of the extractor is cut in the opposite direction to a standard thread. This means that the greater the resistance from the screw, the more firmly the extractor bites into it, improving grip without the risk of further damaging the material.
The hardness of the material allows work on damaged screws made of structural steel, alloy steel and other common metals used in automotive, installation and steel construction applications.
The supplied case keeps the extractors neatly organised and protects the working edges from damage during storage. It also makes it quick and easy to select the right size at the workbench.

Match the extractor size to the diameter of the sheared screw or stud. For example, size #1 (2.5–2.8 mm) is used for small self-tapping screws, while size #4 (5.2–6.0 mm) is intended for M6 screws and larger studs. An extractor that is too small may slip, while one that is too large may damage the hole in the base material.
Removing a sheared screw is a two-stage process. In the first step, a pilot hole is drilled with a bit of the appropriate diameter, along the axis of the broken part. The hole should be at least one third of the screw's length deep. In the second step, the extractor is fitted into a drill driver set to reverse rotation and slowly wound into the drilled hole — the spiral will grip the screw material and gradually draw it out.
