A specialist tool for fitting and removing internal circlips (Seeger type) in hard-to-reach places. The bent design allows work in deep holes and recesses where standard straight pliers cannot reach.
The angled bend of the jaws allows work in deep holes, brake cylinder recesses and other places with limited access. It makes it possible to handle circlips seated deep inside components.
Precision-made tips of reduced diameter allow work with circlips that have small fitting holes. They minimise the risk of damaging delicate circlip grooves during fitting and removal.
The 8-inch size provides good leverage and reach while maintaining precision. This length suits most workshop and service applications, allowing work in medium-depth and deep holes.
The pliers open when the handles are squeezed – they are designed for circlips fitted from inside a bore. The tips locate in the holes in the circlip and expand it, allowing it to be fitted to or removed from a shaft.

Before buying, check the type of circlip: internal (fitted from inside a bore – requires expanding pliers) or external (fitted on a shaft – requires clamping pliers). Use bent pliers when the circlip sits deep inside a bore or recess. Check the diameter of the circlip's fitting holes and select the tip thickness accordingly – slim tips suit small holes (from about 1 mm).
Before use, check the condition of the tips – they should not be bent or damaged. Insert the plier tips into the holes in the Seeger circlip, then squeeze the handles to expand the circlip. Once the circlip is expanded, move it to the required position or remove it from the groove. While working, keep the pliers perpendicular to the circlip surface to prevent slipping.
Do not use excessive force – if the circlip will not expand, check that the tips are correctly seated in the holes. After use, clean any contamination from the tips and lightly lubricate the pivot joint. Store the tool in a dry place, protected against tip damage.
