TORX Impact Socket 1/2" T27 CR-MO Tvardy
Professional impact socket made from chrome molybdenum steel, designed for use with pneumatic and electric impact wrenches. Engineered for intensive use in vehicle workshops and industrial settings where resistance to high torque and repeated impact loads is required.
Technical characteristics
CR-MO steel (chrome molybdenum)
A high-strength impact alloy used in industrial tools. Molybdenum increases resistance to repeated loads and working temperatures, while chromium provides surface hardness. The material retains its mechanical properties even under repeated high-energy impacts.
1/2" (12.7 mm) drive
The standard used on medium- and high-torque impact wrenches (typically 300-1500 Nm). The socket is fitted with a retaining pin hole and a retaining ring, which prevent the socket from coming loose during use. Compatible with most pneumatic and electric impact wrenches.
TORX T27 profile
A six-point star profile with a nominal diameter of 5.52 mm. It provides a larger contact area with the screw than standard hex sockets, reducing the risk of rounding the head at high torque. Used for critical fasteners in the automotive and industrial sectors.
Anti-corrosion coating
The dark working surface is chemically protected against contact and atmospheric corrosion. It extends tool life in damp environments and in contact with operating fluids (oils, greases, coolants).

CR-MO vs CR-V – differences in application
CR-V steel (chrome vanadium) is used in sockets for hand tools – it has good surface hardness but limited flexibility. Under impact loads it may crack or deform permanently. CR-MO steel contains molybdenum, which increases the ductility of the material – the socket absorbs impact energy without structural damage. This is why CR-MO is the standard in impact tools and CR-V in hand socket sets.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that the socket fits the wrench drive – any play should not exceed 0.2 mm. During use, make sure the socket is seated to the full depth of the screw recess, which prevents damage to the TORX profile.
After use, clean the socket of contaminants (sand, metal, oil) and check the condition of the working profile. Worn edges (rounded or chipped) mean the tool must be replaced. Storing it in a dry place extends the life of the anti-corrosion coating.
Impact sockets should not be used with hand tools fitted with a lever – they may be damaged under sudden load. Impact sockets are designed for use exclusively with pneumatic, electric or cordless impact wrenches.
