How the levelling system works
The VOREL system uses an expansion mechanism to eliminate height differences between adjacent tiles. The clip is placed under the tile edge before the adhesive is applied. Once two adjacent tiles are in place, a wedge is pushed through the openings in the clips and, when tightened with the pliers, applies pressure that levels the surface.
Checking compatibility with your existing kit
VOREL 04681 clips fit levelling systems from the same brand. Before buying, make sure your wedges and pliers come from the VOREL range. Components from different manufacturers may differ in opening dimensions and thickness.
Use and maintenance
The clips are single-use items — their lower part stays permanently beneath the tile. The upper part with the opening is snapped off once the adhesive has set, by tapping the side of the clip or using a rubber mallet. The recommended time for snapping off is 24-48 hours after laying, depending on the type of adhesive.
The wedges can be reused many times after cleaning off any adhesive residue. The pliers require no maintenance beyond removing dirt. Storing the clips in a dry place prevents the material from deforming.
Clip usage per square metre
The number of clips needed depends on the tile format. For 30x60 cm tiles with a 2 mm joint, usage is around 16-20 clips per m². Larger formats need fewer components, smaller ones proportionally more.
