S1PL category protective footwear with a composite toe cap and a flexible penetration-resistant insert. The ripstop construction with an EVA/rubber sole provides protection against impacts of up to 200 J and penetration of up to 1100 N while keeping the weight low.
Features of the YATO PALMA S1PL safety shoes
Composite protective toe cap
Made from composite material, the toe cap withstands impacts of 200 J and compression of 15 kN in accordance with EN 20345. Unlike steel equivalents, it does not conduct temperature, which eliminates thermal discomfort when working in low and high temperatures. Being non-magnetic, it allows unrestricted passage through metal detectors.
Flexible penetration-resistant insert
The 4 mm insert is made from a material used in bulletproof vests and protects the foot against penetration by sharp objects with a force of up to 1100 N. Its flexible construction preserves the foot's natural movement as it flexes, which reduces fatigue compared with rigid steel inserts.
Ripstop upper with reinforcements
The ripstop nylon fabric contains reinforcing threads that stop any cuts from spreading. TPU printed overlays on the side and front, together with a microfibre synthetic leather layer on the heel, increase abrasion resistance in the areas most prone to damage. The structure of the material provides breathability.
EVA/rubber sole with SR certification
The two-layer sole combines shock-absorbing EVA foam with a hard rubber tread layer. The SR (Slip Resistant) marking confirms slip resistance on ceramic tiles with detergent and glycerine. The sole is oil-resistant and antistatic, and features water-draining grooves. Energy absorption in the heel reduces strain on the musculoskeletal system.

The S1PL category marking

Limitations of use
S1PL category safety shoes are not intended for work requiring water resistance (roadworks, outdoor work in the rain, wet environments). For such applications, S3 category footwear with a waterproof membrane should be selected. The model also provides no protection against chemical substances – under such conditions, footwear with specific chemical-resistance certifications is required.
Safety footwear care
Regularly remove dirt with a soft brush or a damp cloth. The ripstop fabric can be cleaned with mild detergents; avoid solvent-based products, which may damage the TPU reinforcements. If the footwear becomes wet, dry it at room temperature and away from heat sources – drying it on a radiator may distort the EVA sole and weaken the adhesives.
Insoles should be removed and aired regularly. For intensive work, keeping a spare pair of insoles is recommended, as this allows them to be rotated and extends the life of the footwear. Check the condition of the sole periodically – a worn tread loses its slip resistance, which increases the risk of falls.
Store the footwear in a dry, well-ventilated place. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may degrade synthetic materials and composites.
