YATO YT-25925 PH1 x 150mm Phillips Screwdriver

A Phillips screwdriver with an S2 steel blade of 58 HRC hardness and an ergonomic multi-component handle. Designed for Phillips PH1 screws.

Tip typePH1 (Phillips)
Overall length150 mm
Blade materialS2 steel
Hardness58 HRC

Technical characteristics of the Phillips screwdriver

S2 steel hardened to 58 HRC

The blade is made from S2 tool steel hardened to 58 HRC. It withstands twisting and bending under heavy use. S2 steel has a higher silicon and vanadium content, which gives it greater strength than standard tool steel.

Satin-finished blade surface

The satin finishing process produces an even, matt surface that increases corrosion resistance and makes the tool easier to identify in a set. Mechanical satin finishing also improves the blade's grip when working with fasteners.

Hardened working tip

The PH1 Phillips tip undergoes additional hardening and sandblasting. This process increases the hardness of the working surface, minimising wear during frequent contact with the screw head. Sandblasting provides better grip in the Phillips recess.

Multi-component handle

A construction using materials of differing hardness combines a rigid core with a soft outer layer. The hard component transfers torque, while the soft one increases grip comfort and prevents the hand from slipping during use.

What does the PH1 designation mean?

PH1 is a tip size in the Phillips system (cross-head). It is used for screws with a diameter of 2-3 mm. Smaller than the popular PH2, it is mainly used in electronics, precision mechanics and the assembly of electrical fittings. Before buying, check the recess size of the screws with which the screwdriver will be used.

Applications of the PH1 screwdriver

  • Assembly and servicing of electronic equipment (computers, printers, routers)
  • Work on electrical installations (fittings, boxes, trunking)
  • Assembling furniture with small fasteners
  • Repair of compact household appliances
  • Precision work in mechanical workshops
  • Installation of light fittings and switches
  • Servicing of measuring and control equipment
  • Modelling work requiring small Phillips screws

Use and maintenance

Before first use, check that the tip fits the screw recess. The PH1 tip should enter the recess without play, ensuring full contact of the working surfaces. While working, press the screwdriver perpendicular to the screw axis, which prevents the tip from slipping out and protects the recess from damage.

After use, clean the blade of dirt and protect it from moisture. The satin-finished surface requires periodic protection with an anti-corrosion agent, particularly in damp conditions. The handle can be cleaned with a damp cloth without solvents, which may damage the multi-component material.

Do not use the screwdriver as a lever, chisel or punch. Exceeding the permissible torque may deform the tip despite the high hardness of the S2 steel. If the working tip becomes worn (rounded edges, visible damage), the tool should be withdrawn from use.
