A 1/2" drive impact socket with a 20 mm socket size, designed for use with pneumatic and electric impact wrenches. Made from chrome molybdenum CrMo SCM-440 steel with the AS-DRIVE system that protects nut corners.
Features of the YATO impact socket
Chrome molybdenum CrMo SCM-440 steel
A material with twice the tensile strength and three times the yield point of standard carbon steel. It ensures long-lasting performance while maintaining nominal dimensions, even after intensive use.
AS-DRIVE system
A special internal profile that transfers torque to the flat surfaces of the nut rather than its corners. It minimises the risk of rounding off bolt or nut corners, particularly on rusted or damaged fasteners.
Impact-rated construction
A reinforced construction designed for use with impact wrenches generating up to 5000 impacts per minute. Thicker walls and hardened steel absorb the energy of impacts without cracking or deforming.
Long-reach design
The deep version of the socket provides access to bolts and nuts recessed deep within mounting points or hidden behind structural components. Particularly useful for work on suspension and exhaust systems.

Compatibility with impact wrenches
The socket works with all impact wrenches fitted with a 1/2" square drive. Before use, check that the maximum torque of the wrench does not exceed the strength of the bolted joint. Impact sockets are not intended for use with torque wrenches.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, check the condition of the socket – no cracks, signs of excessive wear or deformation. Fit the socket onto the protruding drive of the impact wrench until the retaining ball clicks into place. After use, clean the socket of any contamination and coat it with a thin layer of oil to protect against corrosion.
When working with an impact wrench, hold the tool with both hands and avoid working at an angle – the socket should be seated squarely on the nut. On rusted fasteners, apply penetrating oil and wait a few minutes before attempting to undo them.
Difference between impact sockets and standard sockets
Impact sockets are made from more flexible CrMo steel, which absorbs the energy of impacts without cracking. They have a dark finish (no chrome plating) and thicker walls. Standard chrome-plated sockets are harder, but can crack when used with impact wrenches. Standard sockets should not be used for impact work.
