1/2" SPLINE M14-M18 VW HUB IMPACT SOCKET SET GEKO G10515
A set of specialist spline impact sockets designed for wheel hub work on VAG group vehicles. The kit contains six sockets in two lengths, suited to a range of Volkswagen and Porsche models.
Features
SPLINE profile
A splined drive system that provides a larger contact area than a standard hexagon. It spreads the load across more points, minimising the risk of damaging the bolt or nut. Used on VAG vehicles for wheel and brake component fasteners.
Chrome molybdenum steel (CrMo)
An alloy with increased resistance to torsion and impact. The chromium content raises surface hardness, while molybdenum provides resistance to cracking under dynamic loads. A material intended for use with pneumatic and electric impact wrenches.
Two socket lengths
The short version (43 mm) allows access in confined spaces, for example when removing wheels with little clearance in the wheel arch. The long version (78 mm) offers better stability at higher tightening torques and makes work on more deeply recessed fasteners easier.
Phosphate finish
The black phosphate coating increases corrosion resistance and reduces friction during use. The layer protects the tool against moisture and road salt, which are typical of workshop and roadside conditions.

Checking compatibility
Before purchase, verify the fastener size in the vehicle handbook or by inspecting the wheel bolt or nut. The SPLINE profile features a series of short splines around its circumference. It should not be confused with the XZN (multi-spline) or Torx profiles.
Use and maintenance
SPLINE impact sockets should be used only with impact tools – pneumatic or electric. They are not intended for use with hand torque wrenches, owing to the specific nature of the profile and material.
It is worth checking the condition of the internal profile before each use – worn splines can slip on the bolt and damage the thread. After working in winter conditions or contact with salt, clean the sockets and protect them with a thin film of oil.
Wheel tightening torques should follow the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations (typically 120-140 Nm for VAG passenger cars). The impact wrench is used for rapid loosening and preliminary tightening – final tightening is carried out with a torque wrench and the appropriate socket.
