A hand tool for precise plasterboard cutting by double-sided scoring. The aluminium construction with a guide and centimetre scale allows repeatable cuts without the need to measure and mark out separately.
The tool scores the board on both sides at once in a single pass. With the standard plasterboard cutting method, each side has to be scored separately — a double-sided cutter removes this step and shortens the time needed to make the cut.
The integrated scale on the guide lets you set the cutting width without a tape measure and pencil. It reduces the risk of error when repeatedly cutting strips of the same width, for example when installing drylining or suspended ceilings.
Aluminium keeps the weight low while maintaining adequate rigidity of the guide. A rigid guide is essential for a straight cut — flexing of the tool during use leads to deviation in the cut line.
The handle is designed to stop the tool slipping during use. This matters when cutting longer lengths, where maintaining constant pressure and direction of travel directly affects the quality of the edge.

The cutter works by scoring and snapping — the blades score the paper lining and gypsum core on both sides at once, after which the board is snapped along the cut line. The tool is intended for plasterboard only. The maximum thickness it handles is 16 mm, which covers the most common board types available: 9.5 mm (ceiling), 12.5 mm (standard) and 15 mm (reinforced). Before use, check that the thickness of the board being used does not exceed the stated limit.
After finishing work, remove gypsum dust from the guide and the tool mechanism. Gypsum dust is hygroscopic and, on contact with moisture, can set on moving parts and hamper their operation. A dry brush or compressed air is sufficient for cleaning.
