PZ1 Screwdriver Bits 1/4" x 50 mm, 10 Pieces – YATO YT-78154
A set of ten screwdriver bits made from S2 steel with a 1/4" shank and a Pozidriv PZ1 profile. The 50 mm working length provides access to recessed screws in furniture assembly, electrical installations and finishing work.
Technical features of the PZ1 bits
Pozidriv PZ1 profile
The PZ1 profile is an evolution of Phillips with an additional cross at 45°. It delivers better torque transfer and reduces the risk of cam-out. It is used in furniture, domestic appliances and electrical work. PZ1 bits are matched to screws with a diameter of 2.5–3.5 mm.
S2 steel and cold forging
S2 tool steel contains silicon and vanadium, which raises hardness to 58–62 HRC. The cold forging process densifies the material structure, eliminating micro-cracks and increasing torsional strength. The bits withstand repeated loads without tip deformation.
50 mm working length
The extended tip allows work in recesses, mounting holes and hard-to-reach spaces. The standard 25 mm length is often insufficient when fitting furniture panels, trims or electrical accessories in flush-mounted boxes.
Anti-corrosion coating
The bit surface is protected by electroplating or phosphating. The protective layer slows down oxidation on contact with moisture and extends the service life of the tool. This is particularly important for construction work in high-humidity environments.

The difference between Phillips (PH) and Pozidriv (PZ)
PH and PZ profiles look similar but are not interchangeable. Pozidriv has additional lines at 45° and shallower grooves. Using the wrong bit damages the screw recess and causes cam-out. PZ screws are marked with the letters PZ or Pz, and Phillips screws with PH or Ph.
Using and maintaining the bits
The 1/4" hex (hexagonal) shank ensures a secure fit in the screwdriver chuck and prevents the bit from spinning under load. Before starting work, check that the bit is fully inserted into the magnetic holder or quick-release chuck.
When driving screws, keep the tool axis perpendicular to the screw head. Tilting causes uneven loading of the profile and accelerates wear. When using a cordless drill driver, set the clutch to a value suited to the material to avoid overloading the bit.
After use, clean the bit of dust and swarf. Storing it in a dry place or in its original packaging prevents corrosion. Replace worn bits with rounded profile edges – continued use damages screws and reduces the quality of the joints.
